as weird traditions go ...

… I guess this one is kind of not TOO weird. As with most traditions, this one has logic that makes sense when it’s explained (at least to me). We have these big old trees right next to our driveway. They’re actually along that whole side of the house. I love them. They shade my deck & backyard. The one nuisance is that come this time of year their leaves start to fall, & the first thing they hit is my car. It kind of becomes a chore having to brush them off the hood everyday, but when they first start coming down it always excites me. 4 years ago I was going out to run errands on a rainy blah day (much like today actually), and noticed that the first leaves had started falling. Sitting on my hood was the most beautiful, bold red/orange/yellowy leaf. It’s colors popped against the white of my car, and glistened with the fresh rain water. So, I took a picture (well, that is what I do after all).

I liked the way it came out. I liked it so much, in fact, that every year since I’ve taken a picture of the first colorful leaves that flutter their way down to my driveway. Here is this years …

No, it is not the same car – it is the same make and model though (that’s another weird tradition thing LOL).
