How to be Unemployed for a Year

I read today about a guy, Nicolas Rapp, who is getting ready to embark on a trip around the world in his Toyota LandCruiser.  Now I understand in these times of social and econ0mic unrest that people are looking for “change” and to do something different or more meaningful, but as I read the article I had to question whether we will ever see this guy again?  He plans to start in New York, cross Central America, head down through South America, ship the car to Africa, and then head through Europe and Asia.  Obviously he will be shipping the car through to some destinations, and flying ahead.  The scary points of the trip are the Darien Gap that separates Colombia and Panama, Africa, and Pakistan.  Oh and he is driving around with his American license plates!  He begins on November 15, and you can follow him on his blog at http://transworldexpedition.com
