Viralectric

Saw these ads as pre-rolls before watching some videos online. I find it interesting how advertising is adapting to/being influenced by YouTube. Reminds me of this super interesting article I read in the latest issue of Wired about ‘The Good Enough Revolution‘ in which simple, cheap products from music to the military are now more sought after than their higher priced & better quality counterparts.

Audi is the last brand I would expect these spots to be advertising. Check out the accompanying site, electricityuntamed.com. The introductory copy is great and is followed by a loop of shocking statistics (yes, bad pun intended). There is also a countdown in the upper left hand corner of the site, which will end on September 15. After doing a little research I discovered that’s when Audi is introducing their new e-tron concept car, clearly an electric-powered creation, at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

According to Agency Spy, this campaign is the work of Venables Bell + Partners.
